Jeanne S. Capraruolo
1950-2026
Jeanne S. Capraruolo, 75 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Amherst Manor.
She was born May 25, 1950, in East Liverpool, Ohio. Jeanne spent much of her life in East Liverpool before moving to Amherst in 2020.
Jeanne worked as an office manager at the East Liverpool Country Club, where she was known for her dedication and friendly spirit. She cherished the life she built with her family, especially after meeting the love of her life, John, on a blind date during a fall homecoming high school celebration, a moment that began a lifetime of love and partnership.
Above all else, Jeanne loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in caring for them and spending time together. She had a passion for sewing and antiques, and she was well known among family and friends for making what many said was the best apple pie in the world.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband John Anthony Capraruolo; her daughter, Melissa Clay (Matthew) of Lorain; her son, John Capraruolo Jr. (Jamie) of Las Vegas; and her four cherished grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Jonathan, and Madden; and her brother, John T. Smith Jr. of Phoenixville, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. Smith Sr. and Jeanette (nee: Cottrill); and her sister, Julia Smith.
Private funeral services will be held by the family.
