PASADENA, Maryland — Frederick A. “Fred” Hoback, 87, of Pasadena, Maryland, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Md.
Fred was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on Dec. 5, 1938, a son of the late Roy and Mildred (Kirkham) Hoback. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School. Fred worked as a manager for Kroger and Foodland until his retirement. After retirement he drove bus to transport patients for Calcutta Health Care Center. Fred was Catholic by faith and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers fan. Fred loved traveling to Alaska with his family. He also enjoyed gardening. Most importantly he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Preceding Fred in death were his wife Nancy (Smith) Hoback; sister Linda McKenzie and brother John Hoback.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Tami Kittle and her husband Bruce; granddaughter Allison Kittle; two great-granddaughters, Alivia and Sophia Sura, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. where Fr. John Nieman will conduct a celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Private burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service the family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
