Joann Clark

Joann Clark, 89, of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026. She was born in Weirton on Jan. 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Geary) Burger. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Mehaffey; two sisters, Elizabeth Lucas and Barbara Najdecki.

Joann was a graduate of Weir High. She was retired from Weirton Steel. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of New Cumberland, and the church’s ladies group. She was a former member of Red Hats and TOPS.

She is survived by three sons, Anthony (Linda) Clark of Weirton, Michael (Lori) Clark of New Cumberland and Richard (Connie) Clark of New Cumberland; five grandchildren, Michael A. and Jennifer Clark, Jacob Clark, Ashley Clark (Garrett Goosman), and Amanda Clark; five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Chaise, Haylee, Derrian and Desiree; also by a niece, Debbie Najdecki.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Church of New Cumberland from 5 to 7 p.m., where a Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. Private interment will follow in St Paul Cemetery, in Weirton. The Nixon Funeral Home of New Cumberland is in charge of arrangements.
