Marilyn K. Groves

Marilyn K. Groves, 69, of Wellsville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at Valley Oaks Care Center, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on June 22, 1956, in Chester and was the cherished daughter of the late Lawrence and Josephine Rice Dudegon.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, James Lawrence Groves, and by her sisters, Valerie Grimm and Terry Grimm.

She was a 1974 graduate of Beaver Local High School. Marilyn quietly gave of herself for many years by helping with the Boy Scouts, especially in making merit badges. She was known for her humble and gentle nature.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by her loving husband, James Groves, whom she married on Feb. 28, 1976; her son, Kristopher Groves; her daughter, Kaylee Pew; her grandchildren, Emily Groves, Josh Groves, Alisa Chase Groves, Peyton Pew, and Ariana Pew; and her nephews, Billy Grimm and Kenny Keck.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Arner Funeral Chapel, with Rico Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
