Linda L. Cochran
1947-2026
Linda L. Cochran, 77, of Wellsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 8, 1947, in East Liverpool, Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Gilbert Ray Ward and Thelma Louise Anthony Ward.
Linda attended East Liverpool High School, where she forged lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of community. After school, she dedicated many years to being a devoted homemaker, raising her children with unconditional love, patience, and wisdom. Her family was always her greatest source of pride, and she found immense joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in every way possible.
Later in life, Linda worked at the Homer Laughlin China Company, where she was known for her hard work and dedication. Her colleagues remember her as friendly, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand.
Linda had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. She delighted in playing games on her phone, especially “Hay Day,” which connected her to friends and family. She had a talent for baking, filling her home with the comforting aromas of fresh bread and sweet treats. Linda’s love of animals was evident in the special bond she shared with her beloved pets, especially Lulu. She enjoyed walks in nature, finding peace in the outdoors, and appreciating the changing seasons.
Linda’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family. She was a supportive friend and neighbor, always quick to offer a kind word or a helping hand. Her sense of humor, generous heart, and unwavering kindness touched everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Josh Cochran; her brothers, Paul and Alfred Ward, and Joe “Bud” Boso; and her sisters, Zona Crabtree and Iva Lawrence.
Linda’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband: Kenneth Cochran; children, Kim Cochran (Kenny Travis), Ray Cochran (Susie), Kenny Cochran, Linda Cochran (Scott Hock), Tami Daniels (Wynn), Emily Cochran (David Ferry), and Julie Cole. She is also survived by her brothers, Johnny Ward (Teresa) and Frank Ward; sisters, Darlene Curran, Sally Osborn, and Albina Stanley; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit her family two hours prior to the service, from noon to 2 p.m. Private inurnment will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
Linda L. Cochran leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and resilience. Her unwavering devotion to family and friends, her gentle spirit, and her love for life’s simple joys will continue to inspire all who knew her.
