James ‘Jimmy’ Buren
James “Jimmy” Buren, a lifelong resident of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Jan. 22, 2026, at the age of 58.
A talented and dedicated mechanic, Jimmy owned and operated his own business, JB’s Auto Service, and was a master at rebuilding engines. His love of cars and motorcycles was boundless, and he loved the vintage muscle cars that he owned throughout his life. He found joy in the intricacies of engines and the freedom of the open road. Jimmy had a deep appreciation for classic rock music, and he was known to strum his guitar with enthusiasm, sharing his love of music with friends and family.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jimmy will remember him for his good sense of humor and the warmth he brought into every room. His laughter and light-hearted spirit were a comfort and joy to all who were fortunate to be in his presence.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Buren Sr. and Marie Buren, as well as his brother, Kim Downard. He leaves behind his cherished children, Zachary and Maria Buren, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Downard, who shared many memories and adventures with him over the years, as well as numerous friends who became like family.
The family has entrusted the final arrangements to the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio. In accordance with his wishes, a private service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
Jimmy Buren will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
