Robert H. ‘Bob’ Kelly

EAST LIVERPOOL – Robert H. “Bob” Kelly, of East Liverpool, passed away Monday evening, December 15, 2025, following a brief illness. He was 77 years old.

Born in East Liverpool, July 7, 1948, he was a son of the late William R. and Virginia Wells Kelly. He was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1966 and later graduated from Kent State University. For many years, Bob was a trusted supplier to the Pottery Industry where he owned and operated his refractories sales business. He was proud of this family’s pottery heritage and spent his career promoting the industry including playing an instrumental role in the return of the Fiestaware product in the mid-80s.

Bob loved his community and the East Liverpool Potters. For over three decades, he was the voice of Potters Basketball and served as the announcer for home games. He was awarded the Potter Pete Coplin Spirit Award for his efforts. He was a member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association and volunteered during its early years and was a founding member of the Blue and White Touchdown Club. He was a lifelong member of the East Liverpool Country Club where he was the former club president and two-time club champion. He was also active with the Ohio Golf Association Board and the Ohio Valley Senior Golf Association Board. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he cherished times playing cards with his friends. Above all things in life, he loved and supported his family.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Sally Anderson Kelly, at home, a daughter, Sara Green (Kevin), and a son Rob Kelly (Kristin), as well as two grandchildren, Nathan Kelly and Lillian Green, and two nephews, Sean and Kevin Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William W. “Bill” Kelly.

Pastor Dan Cesene will conduct a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service from noon to 2:00 p.m. Private burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
