It is with a heavy heart that we share the unexpected passing of William Sayers, 79, on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born on Jan. 4, 1946, in the lively city of Pittsburgh, Bill was a cherished son of Roy and Catherine Sayers, and his life has left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Bill proudly served in the United States Navy, dedicating himself to a life of service. He was a valued member of the Chester American Legion, where his spirit and camaraderie shone brightly.
An enthusiastic lover of the great outdoors, he found immense joy in hunting and fishing, connecting deeply with the beauty of nature. Known for his incredible work ethic, Bill was not only a talented handyman and skilled welder but also a friend to many who could always count on his willingness to help.
He will be dearly missed by his devoted stepsons, James Brown (Rachel) and Melvin Brown (Heather), as well as his beloved grandchildren: Declan, Blaire, Emma, Shane, and Mariah. Bill’s loving siblings, James Sayers (Joyce), Thomas Sayers, Marilyn Dailey (Norman), Richard Sayers (Robin), and Karen Sayers, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog, Bingo, will forever cherish his memory. Bill was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Vaunie Brown, and his dear sisters, Sandra Holland and Barbara Vance.
Join us in celebrating Bill’s remarkable life on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel.Pastor Dirk Hall will lead us in honoring his legacy. Friends and family are warmly invited to share in this meaningful remembrance, with visiting hours from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
