William A. ‘Bill’ Williams
1947-2025
WELLSVILLE, Ohio — William A. “Bill” Williams, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center. He was 78 years old.
Born on Aug. 25, 1947, in Wellsville, he was a son of the late William J. “Monk” Williams and Doris Binegar Williams. After graduating from Wellsville High School, Bill served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. Following his service, he worked at Nova Chemical as a chemical technician. Bill had a great sense of humor and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Above all, he adored his family and was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Conci, and a brother, Charles Williams.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Karen Bess Williams, whom he married Dec. 22, 1966, and two sons, William A. Williams Jr. and his wife, Helen, and Craig D. Williams, as well as two grandchildren, Emma Belcher and her husband, Isaiah, and Alexander Williams, two great-grandsons, Liam and Arthur Belcher, three step-grandchildren, Denise, Sarah and James, and four step great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Dirk Hall and Pastor Jerry Cunningham at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit Thursday, Nov. 6 from 2 to 6 p.m. Burial will be at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center and Sanctuary Hospice for their compassionate care, along with his home health aides Nikki and Angela.
Memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made in care of St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center or Sanctuary Hospice.
