Joyce V. White
1940-2025
Joyce V. White, a beloved mother, sister, godmother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 20, 1940, in Wellsville, Ohio, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Fred and Helen (Antimary) Santimarino.
Joyce was a graduate of Wellsville High School, Class of 1958, and remained an active member of her community throughout her life. She was involved with the Wellsville Class of 1958 Committee and belonged to the Wellsville SOI #657. As a devout member of the Immaculate Conception Church until its closing, she served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister, reflecting her deep commitment to her faith.
Her early career began at Hall China, where she worked diligently in the warehouse. Later, she became a familiar and welcoming face as the clerk at the local K-Mart Department store, providing warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path.
Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by: her husband, Nicholas L White, whom she married on May 29, 2002; her brother, Leroy Santimarino; sisters, Jean Baldasare, Donna DaLonzo, Dolores Crouse, Barbara Beadnell, and Mary Ann McCauley; son-in-law, Steve Poynter; brother-in-law, Fred Baldasare; and great-granddaughters, Emma Rose Lewis and Maiya Jordon Lewis.
She is survived by her loving children, Scott Elliott of Middleburg, Fla., and Shelly Poynter of Wellsville. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Brian Elliott, Angela Elliott, Staci Elliott, Steven Elliott, Coral Elliott, Jeremy Pugliano, Maria Pugliano, and Ashley Pugliano, as well as her 15 great-grandchildren. Her memories are also cherished by her godchildren: Rocky DaLonzo, Lori Gooding, Tami Mason, Jimmy McCauley, Andrew Gooding, and Haidyn Chevront.
Family visitation will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 3-4 p.m. at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, in Calcutta. Public visitation will follow from 4-6 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11a.m. at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, in Calcutta, with visitation one hour before the service. Joyce will be laid to rest at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, where she will be forever remembered and honored by those who loved her.
Following the service on Saturday, family and friends are welcome to gather at The Eagles banquet hall at 327 Main Street, Wellsville for continued fellowship
