Marjorie D. Smith

SEBRING, Ohio – Marjorie D. Smith, of Copeland Oaks, Sebring, Ohio, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025. She was 85 years old.

Born in East Liverpool, March 7, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Glenn Mercer and June Wright Mercer Warrick. Marjorie attended the Irondale Church of God and had worked at Hall China, Opportunity Homes, Sunrise Homes and other area nursing homes as a nurse’s aide and supervisor. Margie loved to cook and enjoyed picnics, gardening and shopping. Above all things in life she cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her three children: Randy Lee Smith of East Liverpool, Susan Kay McIlvain and her husband, Jim, of Lisbon, and Jeffrey Lee Smith of East Liverpool. There are eight grandchildren: Melissa Dawn Smith, Tracy Lynn Smith, Makayla Ridgley, Shaun Michael Smith (Brandan), Pamela Sue Schleef (Mathew), Casey Lee McIlvain, Brittney Lee Smith, and Seth Michael Smith, as well as 10 great-grandchildren Leland, Ricky Lee, Teddy, Henry, Colin, Bailey, Isaac, Taylor, Ava, and Austin, and one great-great-granddaughter Oaklynn.

Also left to cherish her memory are three sisters, Donna Jean Sendling, Catherine Williams, and Karen Wade Wright and her husband, Doug, and two brothers, Glenn “Butch” Mercer and James “Jim” Mercer and his wife, Marsha.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Smith, a son, Ricky Lee Smith, a granddaughter, Kristen Kay Smith and her stepfather, Bernard Warrick.

Friends may visit Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Kari Lankford will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
