Marcia Lynn ‘Sis’ Hockenberry-Billingsley

Marcia Lynn “Sis” Hockenberry-Billingsley, 71, of Salem, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, surrounded in love by her family. She was born on July 28, 1954, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Harold and Nola (Simmons) Hockenberry Sr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Matthew Hockenberry and DeWayne Greathouse Jr; also by her first husband, DeWayne Greathouse Sr. ,and her second husband, Ronald Billingsley.

Sis, was a graduate of Oak Glen, class of 1972, was longtime resident of East Liverpool, recently moving to Salem to be with family. She is well-known for working “The Kitchen” at Simmons in Negley and was known as “Nana” to her grandchildren which were her life.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Greathouse, of Salem; three granddaughters, Jonna Nelson, Jaylene (Bryan) Salter “The Favorite,” and Jericah Nelson; 11 great-grandchildren; beloved niece Jenna and many more nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Darlene Hockenberry; two brothers, Harold Hockenberry Jr. and Steven (Paula) Hockenberry.

Private services were held by the family. Nixon Funeral Home of Newell was in charge of arrangements.
