Barbara McGraw Smith

1937-2025
SALINEVILLE – Barbara McGraw Smith, of Lisbon, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully Saturday evening at the home of her daughter Mary and son-in-law Jeff, Oct. 11, 2025 following a brief illness. She was 88 years old.
Born April 24, 1937, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Evans McGraw. She attended East Liverpool High School and married Kelly T. Smith Sr. on March 28, 1954. After 55 years together, Kelly preceded her in death on March 10, 2010.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Kelly T. Smith Jr.; grandsons Frederick G. Robinson, Stephen A. Wright, and Mark L. Wright, and great-granddaughter Faith Heath Buzzard, great-grandsons Bryson and Bentley Mayhew; son-in-law Randy Wright; two brothers, William McGraw and John George McGraw; and six sisters, Wilma Wells, Elizabeth Welsh, Ellen Burns, Veretta Riffitt, Dolores Lilly, and Florence Allison.
Barb’s life was a testament to all who knew her. She was a mother, homemaker, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, caregiver, friend, prayer warrior, and confidante. She was the rock in the family, the glue that held everyone and everything together. She devoted her entire life to God and taking care of others. She lived a faithful life knowing that her reward would be in heaven.
She was a member of the Lisbon Assembly of God Church and looked forward to attending services and being involved. Throughout her life of serving God, she was always an active member of her churches. She was a church secretary, a Sunday school teacher, played the piano and accordion and loved to sing. She held her deep faith close to her heart. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting, canning, crafts, cooking, shopping, family time, caregiving, and watching religious programs, as well as Judge Judy and old time shows. Barb lived the perfect example for others to follow.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sharon Robinson (Fred), Pam Heath (Dan), Sandy Wright, Mary Smith (Jeff Lewis), and Randy Smith (Michelle), as well as five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also left behind are many special nieces and nephews and extended family, along with her best friends Gerry Rouse, Linda Thompson and Donna Shuman.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Buckeye Hospice, the Assembly of God Church family, Pastor Donna Shuman and Pastor Greg Pennington.
Friends may visit Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 7 p.m. Pastor Donna Shuman and Pastor Gregory Pennington will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
