Alfred W. ‘Fred’ Harzen

1952-2025

Alfred W. “Fred” Harzen, 73, of East Liverpool, left us unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.

Born on March 20, 1952, in East Liverpool, he was the cherished son of the late Alfred and Sophie Karoleweski Harzen. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edna Tice Harzen, and his dear sister, Dorothy McKnight.

A proud graduate of East Liverpool High School, he dedicated much of his life to hard work, holding various positions at Crucible Steel and ServiceMaster. A vibrant member of the Polish Falcon community and an enthusiastic participant in the bowling league at Walnut Lanes, Fred had a passion for tinkering around the house, always finding joy in his hands-on projects.

He is survived by his devoted sons, Alfred W. Harzen Jr. and Edward A. Harzen, both residing in East Liverpool; his adoring granddaughters, Lillian Marie and Morgan Rayann; and his loving sister, Bernice Pendry (Gerald) of Florida.

Join us as we celebrate Fred’s remarkable life on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Friends and family are invited to share in this tribute, with visiting hours before the service from 4 to 6 p.m. Let us come together to honor a man who touched the lives of so many.
