Debra Sue Cunningham

Debra Sue Cunningham, 67, of Chester, passed away on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1958, the daughter of the late Jack and Myrtle (Blake) Cunningham.

She graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1975.

Debra moved to Columbus in 1987.

She was a life-long cook at several Restaurants in Columbus.

Debra came back to Chester, W.Va., in 2012, where she retired from EJ’s Family Restaurant in Chester.

She is preceded in death by nephew Matthew Wiseman.

Debra is survived by her daughter Liza Tanner and two grandchildren, Justin and Leigha.

She is also survived by four sisters, Joyce (Coy) Burton, Charlotte Moorman, Edna Cunningham (Joe Gibson) and Trudy (Mark) Justison. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Debra will be missed by her fur-babies Mocha, Bug and Zoey. Debra’s final acts of kindness was that she donated her organs to help save lives.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell.
