Michael ‘Mike’ J Shenton

1962-2025
Michael “Mike” J Shenton, 62, of Chester, W.Va., passed away Sunday, July 13 at home after a seven-year battle with cancer.
Mike was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 28, 1962, to the late Clifford C. and Judy (Bickerstaff) Shenton.
He was a graduate of Oak Glen High School Class of 1980. Mike had a wonderful sense of humor, was always quick with a joke, and his laughter could often be heard filling any room he was in.
Mike was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and was a season ticket holder from the rebuild in 1999 until his death.
Mike was an extremely loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Terry; daughter, Lana; son, Michael (Emily); grandchildren, Cam, Andie, Mack, and Michael; brother, Mark (Jody); and niblings, Chelsea and Matthew.
Mike and his wife Terry loved to travel together and saw many great American landmarks side by side. From the rocky coasts of Maine to the deserts of Nevada, you could find them together smiling; but their favorite place to go was their boat, The C-Dawg, anchored at Summersville Lake with their family. Of all the titles that Mike had in his life, his favorite was “Poppy,” given to him by his grandchildren.
Funeral services have been entrusted with Arner’s Funeral Chapel. The calling hours will be held on Saturday July 19, from noon to 4 p.m. with a service to be held at 4:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please root for the Browns this year.
