WELLSVILLE -- Marguerite A. "Marge" Amato, 92, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Crossroads at Beaver Creek.
She was born March 5, 1933, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Giovanni "John" and Rosalia (DeFilippo) Amato. In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by three sisters: Rose Sullivan, Nora Amato, and Mary Smith; and two brothers: Vincent "Jim" Amato and John P. Amato.
Marge graduated from Wellsville High School in 1951. She was employed for 40 years as an office supervisor for Western and Southern Insurance Agency before retiring in 1991. Marge was an avid reader, enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, and loved her dogs. She also loved to wear jewelry with rings on every finger and was rarely seen without her perfected makeup. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the former Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors include one sister: Frances (John) Pickering of Wellsville, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
According to Marge's wishes, a private family service was held at the Roberts Funeral Home with Father Bill Matheny of Sacred Heart Church presiding.
Burial was in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Crossroads at Beaver Creek for the outstanding care and love they showed to Marge.
