Johnna Snatchko

Johnna Snatchko, 62, of New Cumberland, passed away June 30, 2025. She was born on June 9, 1963, in Steubenville Ohio the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Meadows) Kaplun. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Snatchko, as recently as June 4, 2025.

Johnna, was a jockey working at Mountaineer Race Track and a member of the H.B.P.A. Her love for horses came from growing up on the family farm in Ohio. As a young girl she worked hard on the farm and taking care of horses. Her love for horses branched into the love of all animals domestic or wild. She enjoyed holidays and made them special for her family, her favorite past time was watching game shows on TV and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and David Boggess of Coraopolis, Pa; a brother, Mark Kaplun (Sheila Gump) of Canton and their daughter Casie (Matt) Close, of Salem and a sister Debra Morse, of Canton.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell, from 2 p.m. till time of service at 4 p.m. The family request flower memorials to be sent to the Funeral home for services.
