1940-2025
Gary T. Brown, 84, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Meadow Grove Nursing and Hospice Care.
Gary was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, on Aug. 7, 1940, a son of the late Paul M. and Lois (Haney) Brown.
He was a graduate of Beaver Local High School Class of 1959. Gary enlisted in the Navy after graduation and served from Oct. 20, 1959, to Aug. 23, 1963, as a helicopter anti-submarine seaman sonorman. He also attended the Artic Survival course. Gary attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Electrical Engineer degree from Point Park College. He was a member of the First Church of Christ (Disciples) in East Liverpool, Ohio. Gary retired after 28 years at Reliance Electric/Rockwell Automation and then established his own business, B3S Inc., for 20 years before his second retirement.
Gary was a great photographer and belonged to the Camera Club which met monthly in Lisbon, Ohio. In his youth, he was a Boy Scout, and in his adult years, he was a Boy Scout leader.
Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Kyle Brown; daughter Tami A. Brown, son Ivan S. Brown, and two grandchildren, Hope S. Brown and Zachary G Brown. Preceding Gary in death were his sister Fay Fowler and a brother Lewis Brown. Nedra Metz, Paul Brown, and Fred Brown are surviving siblings, along with many nieces and nephews.
Gary and Carolyn spent many years traveling the world on extended cruises and Vantage travel vacations. Their favorite U.S. destination was Vero Beach, Florida. Gary loved eating out, and his favorites were Hoges -- beginning as a teenager -- Olive Garden, and his favorite beverage was Dr. Pepper.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Arner Funeral Chapel. The calling hours will be held on Friday, July 11, from 4 to 6 p.m., with the funeral service following at 6 p.m.
Immediately following the service, family, and friends are invited to celebrate Gary's life at Casa de Emanuel for food and fellowship.
