John S. Arnette

1954-2025

It is with a heartfelt mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce the passing of John S. Arnette, 70, of East Liverpool, who left us on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Hospice Home in Poland, Ohio, after a brief illness.

John was born on Nov. 30, 1954 in East Liverpool, to the loving parents, Marion "Sam" and Mildred Mills Arnette.

He graduated from Wellsville High School and enjoyed a diverse career, including stints at Wellsville Sterling China and East Liverpool City Hospital, as well as serving as an OHSAA football official where his passion for sports truly shined. He was a lifetime member of the Columbiana County Officials Association. An enthusiastic sports fan and travel lover, John was known for his incredible kindness and straightforwardness. He would give the shirt off his back to help others and his great sense of humor always lit up the room. He had a special fondness for his classic Studebaker, which brought him much joy.

John leaves behind his devoted wife, Edna "Sue" Heath Arnette along with his beloved children Julia Jewell (James), Joshua Arnette (Devin), Jonathon Arnette (Kelly), and Jessica Arnette. He was proud of his grandchildren, Ethan, Katelyn, Dillon Jewell, Andrea, Vincent Mendoza, McClain, Jovin, Huxley Arnette, Edward and Tatyana Mendoza; step-children, Amy Langham and Melissa Reeder. He is survived by his brother Robert "Bob" Hargreaves (Carol).

Join us in celebrating his life on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dirk Hall leading the service. Friends are invited together with family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service. Internment will be held at the Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens in Newell. John's spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
