Herschel E. Conley, age 81, of Salineville, Ohio, passed away on June 2, 2025. Born on July 25, 1943, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Herschel was a devoted family man, a proud veteran, and a dedicated worker throughout his life.
Herschel served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963, spending the majority of his service time stationed in Korea. After completing his military service, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a Teamster, working tirelessly in the Great Lakes region for nearly four decades. He was a respected member of Teamsters Local Union No. 436, where he forged many lasting friendships and connections.
Herschel married the love of his life, Carol, on August 17, 1966. Together they shared a wonderful journey of nearly 59 years, filled with love, laughter, and mutual support. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for tinkering around the house, always finding new projects to keep his hands busy and his mind sharp.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Treva Gamble and Hershel B. Conley, his sisters Rubena Moore, Estella Daniels, and Leona Davis, and his brother Frank Gamble. Herschel leaves behind his cherished wife, Carol Conley, sister-in-law Karen Gamble, numerous nieces and nephews, and his loyal canine companion, Stella, who brought him much joy and comfort.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in East Liverpool on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Herschel's warmth, dedication, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing to those who loved him.
