Gloria Ann Lombardozzi

1934-2025

WELLSVILLE — Gloria Ann Lombardozzi, 90, of Wellsville, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1934, in Salineville, the daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine (Marraccini) Girone. Gloria was a 1952 graduate of Salineville High School.

Gloria married the love of her life, John Lombardozzi, on April 25, 1953, and they were married for 46 years before his sudden passing on Dec. 13, 1999. They made a loving home in Wellsville where they raised their six children.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Girone, and sisters: Jean Spadafora and Sandra Brown. She is survived by her sons: John (Cindy) Lombardozzi Jr. of Salineville, Robert Lombardozzi of East Liverpool, Nick (Peggy) Lombardozzi of Oldsmar, Florida, Jeff Lombardozzi of Allen, Texas, and Jason (Nikki) Lombardozzi of Colliers, West Virginia; and her daughter, Christy (Lee) Mott of Hookstown, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews with whom she loved spending time.

Gloria will be remembered for the large delicious Italian meals she would prepare for her family, and she welcomed friends and neighbors to share in a hot meal. After raising her own children, she worked as a nanny to several families and nurtured special relationships that she always cherished. One of her favorite pastimes was going to Mountaineer Casino to play the slots. She also volunteered preparing food for Meals on Wheels.

Gloria was a devoted Catholic and member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville until its closing. She was a current member of the Sacred Heart Church in Chester. She loved saying her rosaries every day and looked forward to attending weekly mass. Gloria was also a member of Christian Women’s Association.

The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Church, 418 4th St. in Chester, West Virginia, with Fr. Bill Matheny presiding.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St. in Wellsville.

The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff at Stone Pear Pavilion, especially the dietary crew, nurses and aides whom she adopted as family. They showed her great care and special attention and will always remember her as “Nana.” Also the family would like to express their gratitude to Valley Hospice for facilitating her peaceful transition in her final days.
