EAST LIVERPOOL -- Pamela Ruthe (Coleman) Smith took her place beside the love of her life, Rusty, in the light of their Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Pam was born December 16, 1947, to the late Clarence William Coleman and Naomi Armstrong Coleman Drum, and was a 1966 graduate of Beaver Local High School.
In addition to being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Pam was also a passionate artist, whose paintings won numerous awards and admiration. Additionally, she was a member of the Herbal Guild, bowled on a league team, was a volunteer with East Liverpool City Hospital Auxiliary and Lee Memorial Hospital neonatal unit, and was a member of the East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene as well as Grace City Church.
Pam was fiercely dedicated to her family and loved preparing great food and entertaining at large gatherings at her home.
For nearly 40 years, she and Rusty owned Twister Display, a manufacturer of carnival games.
Pam was an amazingly resilient and brave person. She overcame numerous major surgeries, various cancers, kidney failure, as well as a liver transplant. Her unbreakable spirit and unwavering faith in God served as a source of inspiration to many over the years.
Preceding Pam in death were her husband, whom she married on July 22, 1966, Harry C. "Rusty" Smith, Jr.; great grandson Josiah Clinton Hall and stepfather Leonard Drum.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons Jeff Smith and his wife Lisa, Jay Smith and his wife Kim, and Jason Smith and his wife Holly; eight grandchildren Joshua Smith and his wife Daniela, Bethany Hall and her husband Brian, Emily Smith and her companion Dean, Justus Smith and his wife Ashley, Ranger Smith, Vita Smith, Malkin Smith, and Declan Smith; three great-grandchildren Ezra Hall, Norah Hall, and Grayson Smith; sister Andrea Cornell; sister-in-law Lydia "Gay" Williams and her husband Thom; step brother Dennis Drum; and her beloved dog Mimi.
Friends may visit Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. Pam's three sons will conduct a funeral service Wednesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Private burial at Riverview Cemetery.
Following the service the family will gather at Grace City Church Cafe for a time of fellowship.
The family wishes to thank the various dedicated medical professionals who have cared for Pam through it all, especially Dr. Naik and the amazing staff at DCI Dialysis Clinic, Dr. Thomas, and particularly an unnamed family who donated the gift of life to Pam over 20 years ago.
