James ‘Bub’ Powell Jr

James “Bub” Powell Jr, 58, of New Cumberland, passed away on Thursday May 15, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1966 in East Liverpool, the son of Loria (Hall) Powell of East Liverpool and the Late James Powell. He is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie (Jenkins) Powell.

He was employed with Mountaineer Casino in housekeeping. He loved the OK Sooners, Buffalo Bills and the LA Clippers.

Besides his Mother, he is survived by two daughters, Tanya Powell of East Liverpool and Abaigeal Powell of New Cumberland; a son Anthony Powell of Wellsville and a brother Steve Powell of East Liverpool.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell, from 5-7 p.m. and funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
