1932-2025
Shirley M. Baker, 92, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1932, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Harley Brewer and Frances Steen Alford.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence "Clem" Baker, and her siblings: Earl (Betty), William, Norman, and Delbert Brewer, Helen Cuilli (Donald), and Goldie Roe (Virgil). She graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1950 and lived mainly in the area, with a brief time spent in Naples, Fla. Shirley previously worked as an office manager.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Randy William Baker (Betsy Young) of Wellsville, Ohio, Steven Baker (Carole) of Chester, W.Va., Vicki Baker of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Todd James Baker (Tricia) of Clearwater, Fla. Her grandchildren include Stevie Rae Baker, Dustin Baker (Nichole), Saewood Tice (Mike), Jimmy Shenton (Amanda), Jay Shenton (Tiffany), Chaz James Baker (Teresa), and Trent, Rhett, Rhiannon, Stokely, Dax, Madeline, and Cecilia Baker. Her great-grandchildren are Lilly, Cooper, James Shenton, Alexandria, and Bridget Baker, along with her sister-in-law, Margaret Brewer.
Father Bill Matheny will preside over the Catholic Funeral Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Private inurnment will take place at Locust Hill Cemetery.
