WELLSVILLE -- Robert Mills, 103, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Lakeview Personal Care in Darlington, Pa.
He was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Barbourville, Kentucky, the son of the late Eugene and Sarah (Hale) Mills. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death on Sept. 11, 2015, by his wife, Mary J. (Baker) Mills, whom he married March 1, 1957. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and lifelong friend, Ruby (Smallwood) Milliron; one son, Robert Mills; his infant daughter, Donna Jean Mills; three sisters: Martha Jane and Maudie Mills and Hannah Yeager; and one brother, Grant Mills.
Bob was previously employed as a brick wheeler for Swank Refractories and later as a boilermaker's helper. He was a member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge 1040, Wellsville Eagles Aerie 772, and was a lifetime social member of the Wellsville VFW Post 5647. Bob always tended to a bountiful garden, enjoyed watching horse racing at Mountaineer Race Track, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Survivors include his children: Larry (Marge Grimm) Mills of Wellsville, Kathy (Bob) Kramer of Steubenville, Vickie Ann (Paul) Lassan of Follansbee, W.Va., Rebecca (Robert Brewer) Mey of Wellsville, and David Rowley of Wellsville; and his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mills of Beaver Falls, Pa. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St. in Wellsville.
