Richard E. "Dick" Davis, 88, of East Liverpool, passed away in the emergency department at East Liverpool City Hospital on Saturday, March 15, 2025, after a brief illness.
Dick was born in Chester on May 14, 1936, to the late Joseph W. and Thelma E. Allison Davis.
Dick worked at Crucible Steel in Midland until its closing and retired from WTI in East Liverpool in 2014. He was raised in the Chester First United Methodist Church and graduated from Chester High School in 1954. Dick was a sports maniac, he loved watching all sports, and he played softball in the Chester Men's League for several years, he coached girls' softball as well. He loved visiting the local clubs, East Liverpool Moose, East Liverpool Oriels, Dave & Deb's, and the Chester American Legion and VFW.
Along with his parents, he was sadly preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and his son, Rock Davis.
Left with fond memories are his children, son Bret (Traci) Davis of East Liverpool; daughter Traci Davis of East Liverpool; companion Gloria Ice; twin brother Bill Davis of East Liverpool, brother Joe Davis of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeff, Brian, Krystin, and Megan Davis; and great-grandchildren, Roman, Mia, Esme, Ares, Austin, Alli, Abby, Chelsea, Chloe, and Gage. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends are invited to visit with Dick's family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Pastor Larry Rose will celebrate Dick's life at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.
