Norma Jean Smith

1941-2025

Norma Jean Smith, 84, of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born on March 9, 1941, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late William and Molly (Bishoff) Doran.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Smith; sons, Charles J. Smith Jr. and Michael A. Smith. She was also preceded also by grandsons, Nicholas R. Smith, Kenneth J. Hoyt III, and Steven R. Smith Jr.; sisters, Nancy Angelo and Bonnie Doran; and a brother, Bill Doran.

Norma worked most of her life in nursing. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church of Millvale, Pa.

She is survived by two sons, Jack A. Smith, Steven R. Smith Sr., and a daughter, Sherry J. Smith, all of East Liverpool. She is also survived by two brothers, George Doran of Hookstown and Richard Doran of Aliquippa and also by Cheryl Kugel of Boardman; numerous grandkids and great-grandkids, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m.
