Michael Shawn McDowell, 61, of Newell, West Virginia, formerly of Wellsville, Ohio, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was born March 29, 1963 in East Liverpool Ohio son of Major McDowell Sr. and Anna (Haudenschilt) McDowell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie; a brother, George McDowell; and sister, Beth Daniels.
Mike was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his children Michelle (Brandon) Leek, Crystal (Bob) Webber and Daniel Lake; grandchildren Faith, Hope, Brandon and Brady; and one great-grandson, Jagg; one sister, Becky Davis (Lisbon); three brothers, Joseph (Sue) McDowell (East Liverpool), Major (Kisten) McDowell Jr. (Wellsville) and James (Susan) McDowell of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews; and adopted siblings Vince and Vicki.
No viewing hours are planned. Memorial set at later date.
Snyder's Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon is handling arrangements.
