Joseph Robert "Bob" Taylor entered into the arms of his savior on March 21, 2025, in East Liverpool, Ohio, at the age of 89. Born on March 14, 1936, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Bob lived a full and rewarding life filled with love, dedication, and family.
Bob spent his career as a trustworthy and reliable time spotter at Crucible Steel and the Standard Horse Nail Corporation. His unwavering work ethic and commitment to his duties were admired by colleagues and friends alike, and passed down to his sons and grandchildren.
A devoted family man, Bob cherished spending time with his beloved wife of 67 years, Karen, who preceded him in death. Together, they created countless memories in their beautiful home, where Bob took great pride in upkeeping his immaculate lawn. He also found joy in watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State football games, often surrounded by his family.
A faithful member of Northside Community Church, Bob was deeply rooted in his community and cherished the fellowship and support he found there.
Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Taylor; his parents, Harry "Ed" Taylor and Frances (Laverick) Taylor; his brothers, Jack and Bill Taylor; his sister, Mary Sanford; and his grandson, Aaron Taylor.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Missy) and Randy (Candy) Taylor; his grandchildren, Steven, Matt (Amy), and Emily Taylor; his great-grandchildren, Jakob, Micah, Isaiah, Brooklyn, and Noah Taylor; a sister-in-law, Millie, of South Carolina, and some nieces, nephews, and their families. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Services to honor Bob's life will be held at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Larry Rose officiating. A committal service will be held at Columbiana County Memorial Park in Calcutta on Wednesday, March 26, at 10 a.m.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Bob and Karen are reunited once more, holding hands and continuing their journey together. Bob will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his dedication to family, his hard work, and his gentle spirit.
