Earl Gene Rose

1937-2024

Earl Gene Rose, “Best known as Pap,” 86, of East Liverpool, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2024. He was born on Sept. 17, 1937, in Sutton, W.Va., a son of the late John and Freda (Jackson) Rose. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. Earl was a mechanic by trade and a member of the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Betty “Betsy” (Johnston) Rose at home; a son, Dan (Lynda) Rose of Newell; five daughters, Cynthia (David) Sullivan and Kimberly (David) Jackson, all of East Liverpool, Teresa (Frank) Crummitt of New Cumberland, Kim (Frank) Allen of East Liverpool and Kara (Eric) Vernaccini of Salem. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Allen (Vergie) Rose of West Virginia and Farrel Rose of Kansas; and two sisters, Carolyn (Alden) Stewart of Ohio and Peggy (Joe) Long of West Virginia.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 from 3 p.m. to time of service at 6 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell.
