Sally McShane

1949-2024

EAST LIVERPOOL — Sally “Nammy” McShane passed away at the age of 75 on June 14, 2024 in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Born April 4, 1949 to Glenn and Lorene Sprowls, Sally cherished her childhood memories with her Grammy and extended family on the family farm in Pennsylvania. At age 7, she met her best friend who would later become her loving husband in the neighborhood they both grew up in. They were married on March 4, 1967 just before his deployment to Vietnam. They went on to build a home in that same neighborhood where they raised their two children.

Sally was a kind, welcoming, and unique soul, with a love for nature and a wicked sense of humor. All the neighborhood pets would come to visit her for treats and some even decided to stay. She lovingly called these select few, “not-my-dogs”. She was creative and loved to do arts and crafts projects and science experiments with her grandkids. Kids in the neighborhood could always count on her to find monarch butterfly cocoons and put them in a jar so they could marvel at their transformation. Sally was truly one of a kind. She loved her family and always brightened the room with her silly stories and jokes. She will be deeply missed.

Sally was preceded in death by her brother Webb Sprowls.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years John McShane; daughter Kelly Bryer and her husband Ron; son John R. McShane; four grandchildren Sarah Margelowsky and her husband Scott, Glenn Booth, Rory Bryer, and Isabel Bryer; great grandson Neil Margelowsky; her cat Charlie and her dog Bella.

Per Sally’s wishes, no formal funeral will be held. The family will announce an intimate celebration of life to be held at a future date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home.
