David A. McCartney, born on July 13, 1959 of Massillon Ohio, formerly of East Liverpool, Ohio, died at Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio after a brief illness on Jan. 30, 2024. A devoted father, brother and friend, David will be missed by all.
David was preceded in death by his mother Deloris "Husk" McCartney Davis, his father Glen McCartney, both from East Liverpool, Ohio, and his brothers Hollie McCartney of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Kevin McCartney of Mashpee, Mass.
David leaves behind his sons, Nicholas McCartney of Canton, Ohio, and David McCartney of Port Charlotte, Florida. He also is survived by his brother Randy McCartney of Jacksonville, Florida.
A proud graduate of East Liverpool, Ohio in 1978, David joined the United States Army from 1978-1980. Following his time in the Army, David began a career in construction for many years, and also worked at Eljer Plumbing in Salem, Ohio.
A memorial service to honor David's life will be held at a later date to be determined.
