Sally L. Crawford

1930-2024

Sally L. Crawford, a devoted nurse and active community member, passed away peacefully Jan. 1, 2024, at the age of 93 in East Liverpool, Ohio. Born Nov. 17, 1930, in Wellsville, Ohio, Sally lived a life dedicated to caring for others and making a difference in her community.

Sally began her career as a nurse at East Liverpool Hospital Extended Care and retired in 1987 after many years of service. She was known for her compassion and dedication to her patients, leaving a lasting impact on those she cared for.

Outside of work, Sally was actively involved in numerous organizations and clubs. She served as the past district president of District #13 Eastern Star and past Matron, demonstrating her commitment to the Eastern Star community. Additionally, she was a proud member of the Colloquium Club, Christian Women's Club, ELCH Nursing Alumni Association (where she also served as past president), and the Federation of Women's Club in the East Liverpool Chapter. Sally tirelessly dedicated her time and efforts to these organizations, leaving a lasting legacy.

Sally was also a devoted member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she found solace, guidance and community. Her faith played a significant role in her life and provided her with strength and comfort throughout her journey.

Sally's educational accomplishments were equally commendable. She was a graduate of East Liverpool City Schools, Class of 1948, and went on to receive her RN degree in Nursing in 1952. Her pursuit of knowledge and excellence was evident in everything she did.

Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband Herbert Crawford, her loving parents, Charles B. Scott and Verna (King) Scott, her sister Jean Brandt and her grandson Nathaniel McVay. She was also reunited with many cherished pets that brought joy to her life over the years.

She is survived by her devoted son Thomas (Pamela) Crawford of East Liverpool, granddaughter Samantha and her beloved great-grandchildren Emily and Abigail. Sally leaves behind a dear family who will forever cherish her memory.

A private family service will be held Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at The Martin Chapel-Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, Calcutta, Ohio, and a private burial will be held at the Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Sally L. Crawford will be remembered as a compassionate nurse, a dedicated community member and a loving mother and grandmother. Her legacy of kindness, service and devotion will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
