Reba "Charmaine" Watson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this world on Jan. 20, 2024, in Columbiana, Ohio. Born on Feb. 9, 1938, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Charmaine lived a rich and fulfilling life, spanning 85 years.
Charmaine was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. As a young woman, she dedicated her time and skills as a secretary at the East Liverpool Council of Campfire Girls, where she nurtured the minds and hearts of the youth. Later, she worked as a secretary for Cooper Insurance Company in East Liverpool, Ohio, showcasing her professionalism and dedication to her craft. Additionally, Charmaine was an exceptional businesswoman, serving as the proud owner-operator of Char-Ray Ceramics in Wellsville, Ohio, for an impressive 23 years.
Outside of work, Charmaine's interests were varied and fulfilling. She had a passion for reading, immersing herself in the written word and expanding her knowledge. Charmaine also found joy in spending quality time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their laughter and presence brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Charmaine's journey began at East Liverpool High School, where she graduated with the class of 1955. Throughout her entire life, she remained rooted in this tight-knit community, never straying far from her cherished hometown.
Charmaine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond W. Watson, whom she married on Nov. 19, 1955. She also mourned the loss of her son, Walter Wayne Watson, sister Delores Hargraves, and two brothers, Frank Smith and Kelly Smith. Two great-grandchildren were taken too soon, leaving a void in Charmaine's heart. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Fred Wilson and Mildred Paisley Wilson.
Cherishing the beautiful memories of Charmaine's life are her son, John Sears Watson of Andrews, S.C., and her daughter, Patricia Lynn Watson Dorinski (Dennis) of Youngstown, Ohio. She leaves behind a loving brother, Fred "Butch" Wilson of Englewood, Florida. Charmaine's legacy is further carried on by her seven adoring grandchildren, Jennifer Watson Ketterer (Mike), Frank Mader (Jocelyn), Noreen Watson Beehner (Ben), Jason Watson (Elizabeth), Erin Watson, Nicole Floro (Mark), and Heather Ramsey (Chase). The light of her life continued to shine through her eight great-grandchildren, Clayton, Braden, Gracie, Zoie, Mackenzie, Brooke, Murphy, and Lowen. Numerous nieces and nephews also held a special place in Charmaine's heart.
To honor both Charmaine and Raymond, a graveside service will be held in the spring at the Longs Run Church in Calcutta, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio.
Charmaine's departure leaves an indelible mark on the lives of those who loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished as a source of inspiration, love, and warmth for all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
