CHESTER, W.Va. -- Martha Jane Shaw, 86, of Chester, W.Va., passed on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born, on January 20, 1937, in Pughtown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Esther Beaumont Herron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Shaw, and by her twin sisters, Gladys Atwell, and Lenora Warwick.
Martha was a graduate of New Cumberland High School Class of 1954. She later retired from National Church Supply.
Martha was baptized at the New Manchester Nazarene Church. She was a member of the "Just Friends Card Club", for the past 66 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, slots, and the lottery. Martha was very straightforward and to the point, she had no filter, you knew where you stood with her and loved her for being her.
Martha will be deeply missed by her children, Timothy Shaw of Boardman, Pamela Wright (Brian) of Chester, and Jeffrey Shaw (Dawn) of Chester; grandchildren, Vince Wright (Sara), Michael Wright (Nicole Conrad), Nathan Wright (Casey), Daniel Shaw (Samantha), McKay and Abby Shaw; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Khloe Wright, Hadley, and Colt Shaw.
Pastor Dirk Hall will celebrate Martha's life, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
