EAST LIVERPOOL - David D. Hays, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. He was 69.
Born in East Liverpool, Aug. 1, 1954, he was a son of the late D. James "Jim" and Mildred "Millie" Corradi Hays. A resident of this area all his life, he was an East Liverpool High School graduate. Dave worked as a millwright at the former Youngstown Thermal and later was a driver for CARTS. An outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. He held membership at one time with several clubs including the Potter's Club, Orioles Club, and Dave N Deb's.
He is survived by his wife, Saundra Hawthorne Hays, whom he married Oct. 9, 2012. He is also survived by a daughter, Amanda Rizer and her husband, Zaq, of Pittsburgh, as well as three grandchildren, Violet, Linus and Millie Rizer. He also is survived by a stepson, Todd Hawthorne and grandson, Shane Hawthorne. He also leaves his sister, Tracy Dunlap and her husband, Bryan, of East Liverpool, three aunts, and many nieces and nephews.
Private arrangements have been completed by the Dawson Funeral Home.
