EAST LIVERPOOL -- Timothy Charles McGurren Sr., of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at East Liverpool City Hospital. He was 85 years old. He was born September 14, 1938 in Chester, WV. He was the son of George Francis McGurren and Betty Jane Kell McGurren.
Timothy worked for Homer Laughlin China Company and Stevenson Mfg. Company and was also a member of the U.S. Air Force. He attended Chester High School. He was Christian by faith and a member of The Heights Church where he was an usher and a member of the board.
He is survived wife Eria McGurren, whom he married in 1992, and by children Timothy McGurren Jr., Tammy Ballerstein, and Julie (Roland) Maze and step-children Steve (Kim) Barton, Sherri (John) Fickle and Michael Barton. He also had 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren, sisters, Bobbie Ann Turpin of Hillsboro, OH, Connie (Bob) Hissam of Chester, WV, Mary Fern Schmidt of Georgetown, PA, Mickey Barrett of Chester, WV and brother Curtis (Kim) McGurren of Chester, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Betty McGurren, son Kenneth McGurren, Brother Michael McGurren, Sister Terra Walser, and great grandson Christian Gallop. He also belonged to the following clubs and organizations; Coon Hunter's Club, Friends Carving Club, Mahoning/Columbiana Bee Club, Bowling League and American Legion Post #121. In accordance with Tim's wishes there will be no services held. The Nixon Funeral Home of Newell, WV handled arrangements.
