EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO - Mary Alice Walker, 80, of East Liverpool passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 at Salem Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
Mary Alice was born in East Liverpool on Aug. 14, 1943 a daughter of the late Herbert and Alice (Bryer) Stark. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1961. Devoted to her faith she was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and is remembered as always having a cross by her side. A talented gardener, Mary Alice grew beautiful gardens and could identify and explain how to grow many native plants. Her generous spirit and love for shopping meant she frequently had little gifts for friends and family. Friendly and outgoing she made friends wherever she would go and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Preceding Mary Alice in death was her stepson Leonard C. "Lenny" Walker.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, whom she married June 19, 1987, Leonard H. "Len" Walker; son Chad M. Irwin and his wife Jennifer; two grandsons, Ethan and Emory Irwin; stepson Andrew "Andy" Walker; sister Cheryl Chan and her husband Phillip; nieces Andrea Salmon and her husband Matt and Abbie Rinehart and her husband Cody and nephew Matt Chan and his wife Christine and many great-nieces and -nephews.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Pastor Eric Edwards of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church will conduct a service at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Immediately following the service the family will gather at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church for a time of fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mary Alice may be directed to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 Hill Blvd., East Liverpool, OH 43920.
