Lawrence Junior Owens, 86, of Lisbon, Ohio, passed away Nov. 11, 2023.
He was born June 20, 1937 in Wellsville, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Smith) Owens.
Lawrence was a man of many trades; he formerly worked as Pottery worker, D. Underwood Excavation, Pusateri Excavating, Mint Cook and Crucible Steel.
He was a member of the Federation of Sportsmen's Club, avid hunter and fisherman; he enjoyed mushroom hunting and teasing his grandchildren. He was a Nuisance Control Agent. He was an auxiliary member of the Glenmoor American Legion. Lawrence was always lending a hand.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy (Smith) Owens; two daughters, Dorothy Owens and Jayne Balmenti: a son, Duane Owens; two brothers, Bill and Bob Owens; and two sisters, Margie Smith and Pearl Nevill.
Surviving are four daughters, Dianne Hershey of Lisbon, Donna (Ben) Ritteger of Lisbon, Joyce (Randy) Bangor of East Liverpool and Penny (Stanley) Hogg of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a brother James Owens of Lisbon.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, W.Va.
