James R. Hall Sr., 78, of Chester passed peacefully at his home following a lengthy illness Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023.
Jim was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on July 25, 1945.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Left with fond memories are his wife, Anita C. Ludovici Hall; his son, James R. (Treena) Hall Jr.; and his grandchildren, Peyton (Hannah Clunk) Hall and Teya (Shawn Wheeler) Hall.
Jim retired from the United States Postal Service where he had a long career as a mail carrier in Chester. He loved golfing, boating and bowling. Jim had the privilege of bowling two perfect games in a league competition. He graduated from Oak Glen High School and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Of all that Jim loved to do, by far his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren in their sports careers.
His brother-in-law, John Ludovici, preceded him in death.
Also surviving is his sister, Nila (Gene) Casto of Murphysboro, Tenn., his sister-in-law Fran (Gary) Phillips of Letonia, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews including Johhny (Anita) Ludovici, Goldie Ludovici, Danny (Allison) Green, Lori (Matt) Doughty and Tina (Mike) Sinkovich.
Private services are in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
