EAST LIVERPOOL -- Donald R. Doland, 92, of Avondale Street passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 8:58 a.m. at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born February 28, 1931 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Thomas and Emma Hazel Evans Doland.
He was retired from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania. He later was the maintenance director at City Hall in East Liverpool.
Don was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the First Free Methodist Church in East Liverpool. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to camp. He enjoyed working with his tools and was known to be able to fix anything in need of repair.
Survivors include his wife, Shirlene Doland, whom he married June 22, 1957, at home. One son Michael Doland and his wife, Tina of Palm Harbor, Florida; two grandchildren, Anna Milbert and her husband, Joshua of Bradenton, Florida and Jonathan Doland and his wife, Kailan of East Liverpool, Ohio.
There is one great-granddaughter, Molly Milbert; and one brother, Edward Doland.
Besides his parents, Don was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jennifer Doland; and two brothers, Thomas A. Doland and Robert L. Doland.
Friends may visit the family from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Free Methodist Church on St. Clair Avenue in East Liverpool. Pastor Dave Quillen of the church will officiate a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Immediately following the service family and friends will gather in the social hall of the church for a meal.
