Benjamin A. "Ben" Springer, 76, passed away Oct. 10, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital. Ben was born July 23, 1947, the son of Kathryn Ludlum Springer and the late Benjamin C. Springer.
Although Ben attended Beaver Local during most of his high school years, he graduated from East Liverpool High school with the Class of 1965. After graduation, Ben proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of Longs Run Presbyterian Church
Ben lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and a passion for various interests. Throughout his career, he served as a Support Service Supervisor at Beaver Local Schools, where he made a lasting impact on the students and staff. After retiring, he pursued another role as a charter bus driver for McCarter Coach and Tours, allowing him to continue exploring the United States while sharing his experiences with others.
One of Ben's greatest joys was being an avid boater. Whether it was cruising the open waters or peacefully floating in a serene lake, he found solace and happiness on his boat. When the sun set, he would gather around the campfire, captivating everyone's attention with his storytelling abilities. These cherished moments brought warmth and laughter, creating memories that will be forever treasured.
Traveling with his beloved wife, Nancy, brought Ben immeasurable joy. Together, they ventured to various destinations, collecting memories and experiences that enriched their lives. They especially loved their trips to Atlanta to spend time with their daughter and grandchildren. Ben's mechanical ability was well-known to those who knew him. He had a knack for fixing anything broken. From boat motors to household appliances, he could always be counted on to make them work once again. He also had a love for old sports cars and was finally able to purchase his red corvette dream car. He loved watching football and basketball, and in his early years, played basketball on the Kent State University Regional (East Liverpool) team.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Benjamin (Andrea) Springer of Calcutta and Brandi (Gabe) Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother, Kathryn Donaldson of East Liverpool; and grandchildren, Garrett Lyle, Lindsey Lyle, Molly Springer, Bodhi Springer, Troy Williams, Lana Williams and Ruby Williams. He is also survived by his sister, Barb (Dale) Myers of Salineville, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
