WELLSVILLE - Theodore Gray "Ted" Kinsey of Wellsville passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 10, 2023, at his home suddenly following a farming accident. He was 68.
Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Jan. 16, 1955, he was a son of the late Dr. Collin Marvin Kinsey and Lois Appleby Kinsey. A resident of this area most of life, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1973. He continued his education at The Ohio State University and later earned a degree in Vascular Ultrasound. He worked in the medical field as a vascular technician for many years where he was associated with Jefferson Hospital, Shared Medical and Weirton Medical Center. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church where he was a member of the Vestry. He held membership in the NRA, Ducks Unlimited and White Tail Unlimited. Above all things, Ted loved spending time working the land on the family farm, Spring Valley Farm. The only higher love was that of his Maker and for his family. His legacy and love for nature will live on through his beloved children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Capraruolo Kinsey, at home. The couple married Aug. 11, 1989. There are three children: two daughters, Jessica Kinsey of Sherman Oaks, California, and Andrea Krushinski and her husband, Brad, of Pittsburgh, and a son, Theodore Gray Kinsey II and his wife, Jill, of Wellsville. There are 12 grandchildren: Teddi, Kodi, Zane, Zebulin, Zavier, Zander, Boone and Bowie Kinsey, and Blake, Luke and Alex Krushinski, and Heaven Cramer.
In addition, he is also survived by three sisters, Barbara Amedeo of East Liverpool, Melanie Patterson of Hudson, Ohio, and Melissa Kinsey of Columbus; and two brothers, Dr. Collin Marvin Kinsey II and his wife, Janet, of Guilford Lake, and Dr. Frederick D. Kinsey and his wife, Joyce, of East Liverpool.
Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home. The Rev. Steven McKeown will conduct a funeral service at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Kinsey Family Farm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
