Maude E. Moore of Arlington, Texas, passed away at the age of 106 Aug. 14
Formerly of Chester, she was born July 17, 1917. The last last surviving child of John and Vashti (Bryan) Pryor, she had three brothers and two sisters.
While living in Chester, she had worked at National Church Supply, A.G. Floyd Cleaners and others.
She had attended the Free Methodist and the Nazarene Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher and self-taught pianist.
In 1959 she moved to Texas where her daughter was living. There she was quickly involved in work and church. She was a great story teller and had a book of her stories published.
She had celebrated her last birthday with a large party with many friends and relatives. She had a great time visiting and talking to all.
She is survived by her daughters, Helen (Rich) Chapman of Lisbon and Jean Birdwell of Texas, and also a son, John (Joyce) Moore of Texas, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. There is also a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Janis Harrell, two sons-in-law and two grandsons.
She was loved by many and missed by all. Everyone has their own special stories and memories of a special lady.
She was laid to rest Aug. 22 at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
