Janette E. Baker
1949-2023
Janette E. Baker, 73, of Union passed away peacefully Aug. 30, 2023, at Grandview Hospital. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, Oct. 19, 1949, she was the daughter of G. Walter and Esther F. (Frischkorn) Boyd.
Janette was a retired cake decorator. She attended The Heck Center and Union Methodist Church, where she made many lasting friendships. Janette enjoyed baking, gardening and telling stories. She was also an avid notewriter. She made sure to give her notes to those closest to her, to let them know she was thinking about them. She loved singing, especially karaoke. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Janette is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and David Torrence; granddaughter, Ellery Torrence; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Mark Fraley; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Betty Boyd; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G. Walter and Esther Boyd; beloved husband of 52 years, Charles Baker; and brother and sister-in-law, David and Patty Boyd.
Per Janette's wishes, she will be cremated.
A Memorial Service was held Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, at Union United Methodist Church, 222 Shaw Road, Englewood, OH 45322, with Rev. Norman A. Moxley II officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Wellsville, Ohio.
