James ‘Jim’ Loy

1953 – 2023

James "Jim" Loy, 69, of Calcutta passed away Sept. 2, 2023, at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jim was born Dec. 13, 1953 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was the son of the late Delbert and Sarah (Roe) Loy.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Deanna (Robert) Powers, and his brother, Edward Loy.

Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife of 31 years Debra (Hull) Loy of Calcutta; a daughter, Jodi Adkins (Nathan Stark) of East Liverpool; a son, Brent (Heather) Loy of East Liverpool; a stepson, Steven (Melanie) Hale of Olathe, Kansas; six grandchildren, Nathan, Bailey, Wyatt, Abigail, Kenley and Evie; and two brothers, William (Carol) Loy and Thomas Loy, both of East Liverpool. Jim also has many cousins, nieces and nephews that he held dear to his heart.

Jim graduated from Beaver Local High School in 1974 and retired from Comcast Cable as the regional director of operations.

Jim's passion was for his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids laughing, attending their events, lifting weights and making memories. He cherished his friendships and made new friends everywhere he went. He will sadly be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be led by Pastor Greg Mead Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 300 W. 6th St., East Liverpool, Ohio.

Arner Funeral Chapels was entrusted with Jim's care.
