Grove City, Ohio- Robert N. "Bob" Hammond, 95, formerly of Globe Street, East Liverpool, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 at 9:40 p.m. at the Brookdale Pinnacle Assisted Living Center.
Born March 28th, 1928 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Joseph Clair and Margaret Elizabeth Tice Hammond. He spent most of his life in this area retiring from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania in 1982. Shortly after he began his second career working at the Dawson Funeral Home for more than thirty years.
A member of the Boyce Methodist Church, he proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jean Russell Hammond, whom he married May 21st, 1948, on February 5th, 2007.
He leaves behind one daughter, Jill Hammond of Grove City, Ohio; and one son, Rob Hammond of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. There are four grandchildren, Seth Hammond and his wife, Cristina, John Hammond and his wife, Alisha, David Snyder and his fiance, Jill Galati and Allison Barnhart and her husband, Travis.
In addition, Bob also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Ethan Snyder, Elyse Snyder, Laila Barnhart, Lena Barnhart, Otis Hammond and Sully Hammond.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Clair Hammond.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Evangelist Will Montgomery will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
