WELLSVILLE -- John Wayne Young, 77, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his home.
He was born March 26, 1946, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Roy and Stella Young. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death on January 30, 2019, by his wife, Carol Sue (Mathes) Young, whom he married June 29, 1974.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1969. He was the owner and operator of John Young Plumbing. John was a member of the Wellsville VFW Post 5647.
Survivors include his children: John (Cassie) Young of Austintown and Amanda (Jess) Young Monroe of East Liverpool; and one brother, Jim Young of Missouri. Also surviving are three grandchildren: John, Taylor, and Matthew Young.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating. The Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors at 1:50 p.m.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
