John R. (Jack) Canton, 86, of Canton, Ohio passed away on August 14, 2023, at the Cleveland VA Hospital after a brief illness. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Deborah (Smith) Canton and stepdaughter Mary Snyder.
Jack was born in East Liverpool on May 6, 1937. Jack served in the US Air Force from 1956 - 1960.
Jack is survived by children Jim (Cathy) Canton, John L. (Bobbie) Canton, Curtis (Nancy) Canton, Cathy Canton, Renee Strabala; stepchildren Mark (Gina) Schoolcraft, Sharon Schoolcraft; grandchildren Vanessa, Natalie, Stephanie, Samantha, Sarah, Jonathon, Kyle, Michael, Matthew, Madison, Alyssa, Roman, Amanda, Beth Ann, 4 great grandchildren and brother-in-law Darrell (Marlene) Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at the Sanctuary Community Clubhouse for close friends and family (1030 Laurel Green NE North Canton, OH 44720) on Saturday August 19, 2023, from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cleveland VA Hospital 10701 East Blvd. Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
